Amanda J. (Ruis) Skeel’s ties to northern Michigan run deep. She graduated at the top of her class from Ellsworth Community Schools and went on to earn a bachelor of arts degree from the Honors College at Grand Valley State University. Amanda returned home to apply her talents in northern Michigan, which led to a five-year career as the Credit and Collections Manager at Ellsworth Farmers Exchange, before she finally realized her longtime dream of going to law school. In 2015 she graduated, cum laude, from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. Amanda then joined a law firm in St. Louis and continued to work for that firm remotely when she and her husband, Jeff, returned to make their home in Charlevoix the following year. Knowing she wanted to provide accessible legal services to the community she loves, Amanda pursued her Michigan law license and opened her own law practice, Round Lake Legal, PLLC, in 2018.
Amanda and Jeff welcomed a daughter, Emily, in 2017, and their son, Parker, will soon graduate from Central Michigan University. They enjoy family camping adventures in their RV, spending time on the water, and hosting backyard barbecues for family and friends. Additionally, Amanda is an avid reader and is active in several professional and charitable organizations.
