ESTATE LAW

While obtaining my undergraduate degree at James Madison College of Michigan State University, I decided to focus my studies on policy for older adults. I interned at Elder Law of Michigan in Lansing, the Michigan House of Representatives, and subsequently, at Schraw & Associates in Boyne City, where I decided on a legal approach toward advocacy for the elderly. I continued at Michigan State University College of Law (which previously merged with the Detroit College of Law), and pursued elder law throughout, became a general civil mediator, and practiced my advocacy as student attorney through the Chance at Childhood Clinic and Animal Welfare Clinic. I also sat as the community service coordinator chair for the Women’s Law Caucus. During this time, I started interning at Northern Michigan Elder Law in Charlevoix until I became a licensed attorney. I continued as an attorney at NMEL working out of their Traverse City office for the last 4 years, during my time living in Traverse City.
I have since moved back to Petoskey with my husband, and am excited to be practicing my favorite area of law so close to home. Born and raised as a Boyne City Rambler, I am proud to service the community that helped raise me. I have also expanded my practice from older adults to be more inclusive as the majority of services I provide are not limited to age. I primarily focus on estate planning, trust and estate administrations, and guardianship and conservatorship cases.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family in Boyne City, trail running with my husband, reading, practicing 26&2 yoga, and outdoor activities like ice climbing in Munising, Michigan. I am currently training for a half IronMan 70.3 race in Frankfort, and my husband and I are teaching ourselves to play piano!
